A regional meeting for FMNR Network members in the Eastern Region was held on 31st October 2024. Members raised key issues affecting FMNR including encroachment on sites, lack of harmonized data collection tools. Members also shared key achievements which included; increase in farmers practicing FMNR in their respective areas, enhanced participation of members in National engagements, increase in acreage of regenerated land, FMNR taken to schools.

During this event, a new leadership for Eastern Members of the Network was elected with Faizo Kazungu as Chairperson, Immaculate Chelengat Vice chairperson, Mugoda Rogers Treasurer, Alanyo Gorret Secretary and Michael Ariebi as the Pubilicity/Mobilizer.

Following the expiry of the Strategic plan 2016-2020, the FMNR Network embarked on a journey to review and update the strategic plan which journey encountered a series of delays as financial resources weren’t adequate to facilitate the consultative and intensive process given the wide and diverse nature of its membership. This process however, was successfully completed with support from World Vision Uganda through the FMNR catalyst project and hence the SP adopted and seconded by the members of the Steering Committee to be used as a working document for the FMNR Network on 18th July 2024 at Golf Course Hotel Kampala. The Strategic plan is now accessible online and in hardcopy at our Secretariat Offices in Ntinda.
