Since its introduction to Uganda in 2012, the FMNR approach has been spreading as a fast and affordable option for reforestation. The spread of the model has translated into a loose network of organizations have adopted and are promoting FMNR.
The FMNR Network was born out of the July 2014 National Conference which was organized to scale up awareness and adoption in the country. The Network is a loose coalition of multi stakeholder organizations aimed at scaling up the FMNR Model as a means of improving food, nutrition and income security in Uganda. The Network is currently hosted by Tree Talk Plus, with 18 member organizations that subscribe to it. It is steered by a taskforce comprising of 9 member organizations. The task force provides strategic direction to the network and guides its operations to achieve its goals and objectives.
