“Strengthening the Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) Network to increase adoption of the FMNR Model in Uganda” Project

The Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) Network secured funding from Vi Tree Planting Foundation/ Vi Agroforestry to implement a two-year project titled “Strengthening the Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) Network to increase adoption of the FMNR Model in Uganda” from 2021 to 2022. The overall aim of the project is to strengthen the FMNR Network, project a positive public image of the FMNR model, and enhance adoption of the FMNR approaches in Uganda.

Specifically, the project intends to:

  1. Strengthen coordination of the FMNR Network and its activities,
  2. Build the capacity of members in the FMNR model, and
  3. Document and disseminate FMNR best practices to inform evidence-based advocacy and lobbying efforts.

The FMNR Network – Uganda was formed in July 2014 and is currently hosted by Tree Talk Plus. The Network intends to raise awareness, enhance capacity, and adoption of FMNR in the country whilst enhancing its image. With a current membership of 19 organizations, with a potential to recruit over 55 more organization.
